Picasso to Warhol

Yep, that's the name of the new exhibit opening up at the High on October 14th...who wants to go with me to see it?

Fun.

This pic was in an email from Anthropologie...it caught my eye because of the bright colors and bold patterns...but upon closer examination I noticed dice and dominoes and poker chips...and it made me realize that even though I might be a tiny bit OCD when it comes to keeping my house clean and putting everything in its place I totally want a house that is just fun and has random game pieces scattered about because fun is what life is really all about right?

Amen.

I couldn't agree more!

C-O-L-O-R

Those of you who know me know I don't shy away from color.

My closet is color coded...the black/brown/nude sections are pretty much non-existent.  There is a good bit of gray, but that is only because it was my color of the year in 2010...side note:

Each year I pick a color I'd like to start buying more of so I can be on the look out for clothes that look good on me in that color because I've been known to get into color ruts where I don't branch out at all.  I picked gray because it always looks chic and understated, like you're not trying to hard even when you are.  Its out of character for me but if I had to pic a neutral to wear it would def be gray.

This year my color of the year is blue...be sure to compliment me every time you see me wearing blue, its not a color I'm used to sporting, but I'm starting to like it.

Anyways...my friend Katrina sent me this today and said that if she had to pick out colors to describe me these would be they:

What she doesn't know it that I saw the same pic this morning and thought to myself, that is so me...obvi Katrina knows me pretty well because they are spot on, especially the magenta...and not to mention the confetti - I love confetti...which brings me to another different but some what related idea...

I'm going to start sending out hand made cards like the one above that say "I wanna party with you" when I need some quality time with a friend.  Of course this will slightly infuriate SHB because she hates confetti and glitter but I'll plan something fab for the two of us to do together that will totally make it up to her.

I just think its such a fun way to say "let's hang out" and if its unexpected it will be all the more fun!

Frisbee Golf Anyone?

Young Life is an organization that is near and dear to my heart.  Last year one of the past area directors from the area I grew up in, Mike Sweeney, passed away from cancer.  He was young, and fun, and loved the Lord and loved kids.

For those of you who don't know, I'm on committee for North Fulton Young Life and this year we're holding the first annual Sweeney Frisbee Golf Tournament.

All the money we raise will go towards sending kids to camp...and I can personally say that the time I spent at YL camp gave me some of my best high school memories!

If you want to sign up just email: TheSweeneyTournament@gmail.com

...and feel free to contact me if you have questions about any of this...it should be a fun event!

Yard Games

I'm a big fan of games (even though I am the first to volunteer to sit out for corn hole because I am so awful at it)...and now that nice weather is in the not so distant future I'm very excited to get outside and play.

Giant Jenga...someone needs to make this happen in my life stat (made with 2 by 4s cut to 10 1/2 inches in lendth).

Poleish - a new discovery...lots of fun. You can buy a set like this on Amazon for $40 or make your own ganster version...ask Doug for instructions.

Beer Stache

If you guys are not already a part of ScoutMob, please join. I can not tell you how much joy it has brought to my life in the last week. Its where I learned about Sun In My Belly...an Atlanta restaurant that encourages BYOB. Yes you read that right a restaurant that is BYOB! I can wait for a champagne brunch with plenty of Cirstalino.

Not only does ScoutMob offer great deals (similar to Groupon) but their daily emails are fab. Today's email featured this little gem...you can guess what I'll be giving as hostess gifts for the next couple months!

They are called beer staches...they come in different colors so that they can work the way wine tags do to know who's drink is who's and they clip/slip right on to bottles. Sorry for the pic of the random girls...its really all their website had to offer.
