Etsy Find of the Week

Most of you know I have a weakness for all things peacock...I have no idea why, but I do...with is probably why I think these dish towels are so cute...that and the $13 price tag.

Buy here: Lovelane

The store also has a sweet set of moustache coasters for sale...I'm just saying, its def worth checking out.

Anthropologie Items of the Week

Last year  I decided gray was going to be my color of the year...it always looks so effortless.  This year is going to be the year of plaid...which also always looks effortless.  With the ruffles and bow this is not totally effortless, but its at least a step in the right direction.  This shirt is SO flattering on. This pink is not to sweet and the gray in the plaid also toughens the shirt up a little.  This one is a must buy...I already did!

How cute are these little coin purses?  They'd make great stocking stuffers!

I have a weakness for all things green and this is no exception.  Warm and cozy, but fitted and cute...and on sale for the low, low price of $49.99.

This guy is also on sale for a mere $9.99 I ordered one to hang scarves on outside my coat closet and I can't wait for it to arrive!

These are on sale too for $19.99...they are the coolest and would make great gifts this holiday season.

Who Will Bow to Whom?

It blows my mind that someone sat down and figured all this out...but it also very much intrigues me.  Here's the article from People.com:

Ah, the complexities of the royal pecking order.  Now that Kate Middleton is on the fast track to royalty, an interesting question of politics at the palace has been raised: Will Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall (a.k.a. Prince William's stepmother) have to curtsy to the young princess?  The short answer, it seems, is yes.

As the wife of the future king, Kate will hold a senior spot among the women in Queen Elizabeth's extended family, and the other women (those born to royalty, no less) will curtsy to her.

"A little-known edict issued by the monarch five years ago is about to sink Kate, Princess Anne, the Queen's cousin Princess Alexandra and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie into a very royal quagmire," writes Christopher Wilson in the U.K.'s Daily Mail.

A document titled "Precedence Of The Royal Family To Be Observed At Court" was drawn up in 2005 in order to clarify the position of the then highly unpopular Camilla among the royal family. As Prince Charles's wife, she should have been high up in the order, but instead, she was moved down to appease Princesses Anne and Alexandra.

"Princess Anne, in particular, was extremely chilly towards Camilla and made it clear she had no intention of curtsying to her ever," a former courtier tells Wilson.  So what does this mean for the newest Princess in town?

As the wife of the future King, Kate will rank second on the pecking order, as long as she is physically with William at royal gatherings. Therefore, Princess Anne, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and a dozen other ladies will rank below her and should curtsy to her.

However, if she is not with her prince, Kate will drop at least four places in the order, and Princesses Anne, Beatrice, Eugenie and Alexandra will outrank her. Kate will always, of course, curtsy to Queen Elizabeth.

Seeing as I am now officially The Lady of the River I would like to declare a similar edict.  Everyone must bow to me when I am in the presence of King Charles.  When he isn't around you may simply greeting me using my proper title.

Tunes on Tuesdays

I love Christmas music and soundtracks.  Here are my picks for "various artist" Christmas CDs...they're kind of like Christmas soundtracks if you ask me.

The Hotel Cafe presents: Winter Songs
I got this one last year, but I still really love it.  I even listened to it in August when it was 100 degrees out because it made me feel like it was a little cooler out...and also because I couldn't wait until the day after Thanksgiving when it was actually appropriate to listen to it.

Ten out of Tenn Christmas
This one is a bunch of singer/song writers out of Nashville.  I think its pretty great to as are their non-holiday CDs...you should def check them out as well.

What are y'all's fav Christmas songs/CDs?
