Last One

This sounds like a refreshing summer drink!

Ready to add to my stack.

Sweet nursery.

I just like this.

More inspiration for my stack.

Raw edge bathroom shelf.

These guys (or gals, who knows) make leashes out of climbing rope.  I think Sadie needs one for her 3rd birthday.

Dark mantle.  Brick fire places usually seem to get painted a lighter shade, but I love this dark blue/grey.

Love these boots but Alex has forbidden any more boot purchases until we have a bigger house.

More large scale black and white.

Bedding. curtains, and paint cover.

More utensil crocks and kitchen plants, my tastes are consistent.

Hair inspiration.  After chopping it off, now I want to grow it back out.

Breakfast berries with a bit of granola and powdered sugar.  Yum.

Neglected.

I could not believe my eyes when it said my last post was from April.  Whoops.  Sorry I've been neglecting you.  Here is a photo dump from the last few months...

Loving the ticking stripe chair in this little nook...and the plants in baskets and paintings in gold frames...pretty much love it all.

Huge windows and cozy blanket?  Yes please.

Love this art by Michelle Armas.

Might have to recreate this...

Attractive bathroom storage...you know I love a built-in, even in bathrooms!

Love the tiny cakes and sprinkled cover numbers!

Magic Carpet

The only REAL magic thing about these is that they make me very happy.  I've been collecting images of Persian rugs in all sorts of rooms for quite a while...

Kitchens...

Offices...

Bathrooms...

And now in my own house.  This picture isn't actually from my own house, but this rug now lives in front of my kitchen sink.

I found a great little store on Ebay for Persian rugs and this baby was super cheap.  Let me know if you want the name of the seller...I promise not to get into a bidding war with you!

A little bit country...

I post so infrequently these days that I can never really remember what I've mentioned before...so forgive me if I've already talked about this!

In one of Alex and I's recent conversations about Home Decor (yes we talk about that together...rarely) he mentioned that he likes a really Southern style like the home he grew up in.  At first I was a bit confused about what he meant by that, but I'm pretty sure what he meant was that he liked a country style.

I'm not completely opposed to country style if that means rustic and folky, but not kitchy.  The pic above from Pinterest was described as "modern farmhouse" and I think most of it would work with both our styles.  Love the plank walls, built ins, layout, rug etc.  Not that furry throw pillow though.

This is really more modern that country but I love that the island as cabinets on the side of the stool area...you can never have too much kitchen storage, especially when you own as many platters as I do!  I also like the ceiling beams, but come on, who wouldn't?

Not really country either, but kind of vintage.  I like old houses, but they often have such small bathrooms.  The lightness of this bathroom makes it feel a lot bigger.  I also like that they went with a shower with clear glass door instead of a tub and shower curtain to maximize light and space!

Feeling Dotty

I love polka dots...but do you think this would be a little much?  I think not if you did it in a half bath with some rustic elements like that mirror!

If that's still a little much for you maybe some polka dot bedding?  At first I thought it was a gold polka dot sheet set, but now that I'm looking a little closer I don't think it is, but I swear I did come across a gold polka dot sheet set recently...maybe in the new Serena and Lily catalog?

Home Decor Inspiration

I blame Douger for starting the dry erase calendar trend, but I have to admit it is helpful to have our schedules in an easy to see place at all times.  I'm thinking about turning our calendar wall into more of a command central like this since we literally have an entire wall just devoted to two calendars!

The kitchen table I had at my condo didn't work at this house so now we have two kitchen tables.  I'm thinking the one we're using now could be used as a "desk" kind of like in the office pictured above in the future.  I'm pretty sure this is Jenna Lyon's J.Crew office...its pretty much what my office looks like too!

I really like the set up of this living room...mostly because it provides so much seating!  I also like tons of details like the Moroccan side table next to that chair on the left and the picture frames hung on the OUTSIDE of the book case!

Pretty sure Ikea would sell a simple shaker style vanity like this which could easily be transformed with a coat of gray paint to look fab like this one.  I swear by Annie Sloan paint for doing furniture.  You can not mess up.  You don't have to sand.  And something like this could be done (including dry time) in an hour or two!

We keep our dish towel on the oven bar and since we have a small kitchen its really not a big deal, but I love the idea of actually having a towel bar by the sink where it will be used!

More Home Decor Inspiration

I've posted pictures of baskets used as planters before, but now I really want to do it at my own house.  You can buy a cheap, ugly, plastic planter and hide it in a pretty basket!

I need a new office chair...I have a desk similar to this one and am thinking about getting a white leather chair to go with it.  I know white leather seems like a bad idea and would probably be pretty unpractical, but a girl can dream!

I love the tile on the sides of the tub...makes it look custom!

And, notice the curved shower curtain rod...I had them at my condo in Atlanta and loved them..they make the shower feel SO much bigger!  I highly recommend them!

More Home Decor Inspiration

I love the idea of putting a small table in a bathroom for storage when you have a pedestal sink...especially with a basket underneath for even more storage.  I also kind of like the tile on the floor.

I want an upholstered bed so bad...when its time to upgrade to a king sized bed I'll def be getting one.  I like that this one is tufted, has nail head trim AND a slight wing back on the headboard.  I also like that a light blanket is used for bedding but there is another blanket folded at the foot of the bed that and some layers/pattern/texture.  Also love a bench at the foot of the bed.  The desk as a bedside table was an "interesting" choice to me at first, but its growing on me...just when I was getting used to the idea of dressers as nightstands someone has to go and throw this whole new concept at me!  Finally, the set of framed art over the headboard...good call.  Not too big, not too small...just right!

Screen doors can look a little tacky but they are oh so functional.  This is a screen door I could live with...I love the pups looking out the bottom of the screen too!

I like this vanity for a guest room where you wouldn't heed a lot of storage space.

Best idea...built in shelves in the shower, so much better than the ones that hang over the shower head and always fall down!

Home Decor Inspiration

I love the idea of a desk between twin beds for a kid's room...especially when the desk can look out a window.  I also really like that rug!

I want to be in this tub.  Love the plant, light tile with dark grout and the rustic tub shelf (not really sure its actually classified as a shelf, but I'm not sure what else to call it).

Most of this bathroom is a little to bright even for me...but I do love that shelving with the canvas baskets!

Love the shelves to the side of the stove.

Open shelves and subway tile.

Love this home office layout!

The right mix of color and neutrals.

White lacquer shelves in a tiny bathroom.
