I found this pic saved on my iPad 3 different times, I must have really liked it. I've loved all my adventures this summer but I'm ready for a lazy Saturday morning that looks a bit like this...

Playing Catch Up
Hello friends. I was looking through a few pictures I had saved on my iPad and realized that I had so many saved it must have been a while since I posted, but I didn't think it had been this long...oops.
Let me get you all caught up.
Let me get you all caught up.
I'm going to take a pottery class this summer and you better believe that each of you will be receiving one of my works of art! I like these pots.
I was the baby of my friend group until Alex came along, but now that I'm 30 and Alex has a ways to go I can't help but start thinking about 40th birthdays even though I know they are a ways off. I like this combo. Stripes, fringe, black, white, and gold. Sophisticated but also a little bit whimsical.
The top right picture caught my eye. It looks like a green of some sort and I think it would make a fun centerpiece for a spring party.
Love this idea for displaying pictures and other mementos.
My brother got me this bag for my birthday and I plan to fill it up just like this and go for a picnic as soon as we have another nice day.
I think these would be sweet on the window ledge next to my sink.

Murple Flowers
Loving bouquets of all the same flowers in maroon/purple aka murple. Moody, interesting, unique and beautiful, don't you think?

Home Decor Inspiration
I blame Douger for starting the dry erase calendar trend, but I have to admit it is helpful to have our schedules in an easy to see place at all times. I'm thinking about turning our calendar wall into more of a command central like this since we literally have an entire wall just devoted to two calendars!
The kitchen table I had at my condo didn't work at this house so now we have two kitchen tables. I'm thinking the one we're using now could be used as a "desk" kind of like in the office pictured above in the future. I'm pretty sure this is Jenna Lyon's J.Crew office...its pretty much what my office looks like too!
I really like the set up of this living room...mostly because it provides so much seating! I also like tons of details like the Moroccan side table next to that chair on the left and the picture frames hung on the OUTSIDE of the book case!
Pretty sure Ikea would sell a simple shaker style vanity like this which could easily be transformed with a coat of gray paint to look fab like this one. I swear by Annie Sloan paint for doing furniture. You can not mess up. You don't have to sand. And something like this could be done (including dry time) in an hour or two!
We keep our dish towel on the oven bar and since we have a small kitchen its really not a big deal, but I love the idea of actually having a towel bar by the sink where it will be used!

DIY Projects on My Radar
I've been liking the idea of dressers as nightstands a lot recently...and seeing the look in person at Hardee's new house this weekend only added to my admiration of this look. It makes so much sense to have something functional next to the bed and I think we could all use a little extra storage space. My current nightstand just has one little drawer and the top of it is pretty much full seeing as I always have a huge turvis tumbler of water and a book on it in addition to the lamp, alarm clock and candle that also live there.
I think I could get a really basic, really inexpensive dresser with clean lines like this at Ikea, paint it and add some brass hardware to it and have a very stylish new dresser!
Love the design on this cornhole board. My parents need a set for the lake and I just might have to make them a similar set!

In the Dark of Night
There was a really cool old house for sale in BMT that was incredibly reasonably priced. After visiting Hardee's new house I started thinking I really liked the idea of buying a house that I could work on and customize exactly the way I wanted it. I started living in a fantasy world where I actually lived in that house and began decorating each room in my head.
Alex and I have had several convos about making our house a little more masculine and a little less bright. He thinks bedrooms should be painted in dark colors and seeing as I sleep with an eye mask if there is even the slightest bit of light in my room I have to agree with him.
I never thought about a dark green, but I love this.
I think maybe I've used this pic before, probably talking about the headboard and not loving the fur blanket...but I could also go with dark grays.
Navy is on my list too, not only for nails...I just don't have a good example of a navy bedroom saved away just yet, so you'll have to use your imagination.
Sadly, I'm 99% sure the house sold since there is no longer a for sale sign up...guess I'll have to go back to reality and keep sprucing up my current abode!

Look What I Found...
Sometimes when I'm reading blogs on my iPad I save images and then forget about them. Here are a few I just discovered...
Love this tray..it looks styled but could also be a great place for gathering things left sitting around randomly.
The art is a bit crazy here, I know. What I like about this room is that they mixed a very traditional rug with some brightly colored, fun pillows and it all works together. Need to start mixing styles up a little bit more!
I let my hair lady talk me into bangs the last time I got a cut and they always seem to be in the way...I like the idea of her longer bangs...mine will get there someday!
Also, pencil skirts. I now love them. I used to hate them because I thought they made my hips and thighs look bigger so I hid under fuller skirts, but now I think I've changed my mind!

Nursery Inspiration
I've been finding so much good stuff to share and I'm trying to hold back rather than post it all at one time, but I'm really dying to share this even though I personally will have no use for it for quite some time...
Love the idea of using real twigs for a mobile. I wonder if there is a patter for the birds out there so you could make them yourself and select fun fabrics?
This chair kills me. I want it. I could put it in a living room, or a bedroom or pretty much anywhere for now and then move it to the nursery when the time comes right? I love the idea of a traditional rocking chair with such a cool fabric. We have an old rocking chair that belonged to my grandmother...it needs to be repaired from my parent's dog chewing on it (bad Tilly) but now I totally want to steal it from my mom and get it refinished. Mom readers (that means you Hardee)...would you regret not having a glider/ottoman if you could have something as cool as this instead?

Screen doors can look a little tacky but they are oh so functional. This is a screen door I could live with...I love the pups looking out the bottom of the screen too!
I like this vanity for a guest room where you wouldn't heed a lot of storage space.
Best idea...built in shelves in the shower, so much better than the ones that hang over the shower head and always fall down!

Looks I Love
I love both these outfits. They're from a line called Whit. I wish they weren't so expensive...guess I'll have to be on the hunt for similar looks at a more reasonable price!

Porches Should Not be an Afterthought
My mom read this quote to us out of a magazine over the weekend and I couldn't agree with it more. Because of the mild temperatures, minimal humidity in the mountains and the fact that we still do not have a kitchen table we spend a lot of time on our porch. Here is some inspiration for the porch I've gathered recently...
We pretty much always have an empty bottle of wine on hand and I think this would be a fun way to repurpose them...especially if we could find citronella oil to use to keep the bugs away. Not sure how our land lord would feel about us drilling hole in the porch posts...but its worth asking about!
We already have mint, oregano, chives and rosemary growing in pots on the deck but we'd like to add tomatoes and basil to our little potted garden and we're thinking a hanging basket will be the perfect way to do that. The plan is to plant basil in the middle and let some grape or cherry tomato vines hang down the side. We'll see if we can actually pull it off...

Darling, Let's Go to the Market
I know this is slightly out of season for most of you, but we've been having fall like weather in Black Mountain and we also have a farmers market so naturally these pictures caught my eye.
Alex and I don't look nearly as chic when we go to the farmer's market but this gives us something to aspire to!

Pink and Red? Yes!
I'm going to try to get back in the habit of posting at least one pic every day that catches my eye.
Today it was this one...I can not stop thinking about that pink and red dress paired with a long funky necklace. Recently I've been trying to stay away from pink because it usually feels too sweet to me but I love this combo. If only I knew where to get a similar dress...

Random Inspiration
Don't necessarily love the painting, but I do love how HUGE it is!
Girls night pizza party...love how all the cake stands are different heights (they're all from Crate and Barrel)
So random, but I love that girl's outfit for traveling - scooped hem t-shirt, dark cropped pants and a cross body bag.

Home Decor Inspiration
Love the art made out of reclaimed wood...I wonder if Alex could do something like that?
Really loving the idea of one big sham in a bright pattern.
Branch, twig and map garland. I could totally make it myself! The gray striped bedding is from West Elm just in case you were wondering!

Kinfolk Magazine
I really love these pics from Kinfolk magazine. I know they're a little hipster, but they're also pretty dreamy.
Would you just die if you ever saw Alex in a tank and jean shorts?!
These make me want to go on a picnic
...and frolic in a stream afterwards
...then have dinner in the garden (but I won't dress like a grandma).

Inspiration
So yesterday was the first time in over a month that I was actually able to log into Pinterest from my computer. I had to create a new account and repin all 628 of my pins...well actually only 526 made the cut but still, it was quite a bit of work. Sorry if I blew up your Pinterest feed yesterday!
Here are a few pics I came across this morning that really inspired me. They're not going on Pinterest, I saved them for you...my lucky readers!
Even though the whole colored jeans trend is prob about over, this makes me want to get a pair of green jeans!
Dying for neon nails now...I think I'm done with super dark colors for a little while!
Polka dots and Madewell. Yes!

Pinterest Picks
So...something disasterous has happened to me. Over Christmas break everything I pinned on Pinterest started popping up on Facebook so I tried changing some settings to make that stop happening...what I really did was unlink the two accounts so now I can't log into Pinterest on a computer and thus I can't pin all the cool things I come across on the internet.
That's mostly why there haven't been any Pinterest Picks posts recently. Here's all the stuff I would be pinning today if I could...
The bedroom of Joanna Goodard from A Cup of Jo. I love all the color and how its not too matchy matchy.
This is a great shot of a couple leaving their wedding/reception...I doubt I'll be peacing out in a bug, but you get the picture none the less.
Plaid wreath...seems like a good idea for something to do with all of Alex's old shirts.
I just think this is a cute New Year's shot.

A Little Inspiration
I'm not usually a monogram kind of girl, but I really love this cornhole board. A lot.
Don't you just really want to eat breakfast right here? I sure do.
Anthropologie has a very similar candelabra that is very very reasonably priced. I kind of want one...but I have no idea where I'd put it.
