More From the Archives

The photo dump from my phone continues...

Don't you want to spend a lazy weekend by this fire?

Love the kilm bench.

Handleless mug.

I kind of love the pale blue and tan/gold combo going on here.

Boho nursery.

Inviting.

Love this chair.

Saved this one to use as an idea for an arrangement for a similar vase I have.

Love the leather couch and the large scale black and white behind it.

Such a fun nursery.

Can't remember if I save this one for the buffet set up or the light fixture...or both.

Kate Spade initial necklace.

Love the exaggerated bow on this wreath.

More large scale black and white photography.

Hair and outfit.

I like the idea of different color upper and lower cabinets.

More fruit and muffin ideas for weekend guests.

Hummus topped with feta, bell peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers (I'm pretending like the olives aren't even there, running the whole thing).

Like the vignette, minus the top hat.

Bedding and full length mirror.

Home Inspiration

Screen doors can look a little tacky but they are oh so functional.  This is a screen door I could live with...I love the pups looking out the bottom of the screen too!

I like this vanity for a guest room where you wouldn't heed a lot of storage space.

Best idea...built in shelves in the shower, so much better than the ones that hang over the shower head and always fall down!

I want to be here.

Isn't this backyard totally dreamy.  No that's not Alex in the pic but it is another bearded man.  What can I say, I guess I like bearded men and their surroundings!

In my fantasy word my backyard has a patio with a simple outdoor fire place just like this one.  I'll take naps in the hammock and Alex will use that little shed as a place to work on projects and make messes...that way he'll have no excuse for messes in the house!

My Fantasy World

As I've said before, Alex gets full credit for bringing me out of the fantasy world where Robert Pattinson was my boyfriend and I worked as Mumford and Son's personal assistant...but sometimes I secretly let myself drift back to that world just a little bit and let myself live in my fantasy world vicariously though Pinterest.

In my fantasy world I live in a cute little bungalow like this.

...and I sleep in a bed like this, but don't worry, I don't have a redic chandy like the one in this room.

Outside there are perfectly planted pots in bloom, always.

Oh, and I have a neon chicken coup complete with chickens for fresh eggs every morning.  Please take note of the roof top garden on my chicken coup...its one of my fav features of the whole set-up.

When I have twilight movie marathons I snuggle up under this fab blanket.

When I have parties I simply make a meyer lemon garland like this one for the table from the meyer lemon tree I have.  That way guests feel like I've put work into creating a nice environment but it doesn't feel too fancy.

I pack for trips in this fad duffel...to be honest, this could actually be part of my real life, its a steal at only $99!

Every day I would eat goat cheese...like this goat cheese and roasted red pepper pasta.

And of course I'd have time to craft everything my little heart desired like these beaded friendship bracelets for all of you!

Dream TREE House

I showed these pics to Alex and asked if he'd make me a tree house like this some day.  He just laughed at me.  But seriously, is it not the coolest tree house ever?  Make sure you look at that deck below the actual house...that just might be my favorite part!

Appliance Cabinet

I'm super weird about having too much stuff on my counter tops...my toaster, blender, and every other appliance I have all live in my kitchen cabinets since I don't use them every day or even on a regular basis.

Alex just got a coffee pot to keep at my house and knew it would freak me out keeping it out, but we compromised on a place it could live (on the counter top, but right in front of a plug...I'm also weird about cords showing).

Anyways, this would pretty much solve all my problems because the appliance would be easily accessible but they along with their cords could also be easily hidden.

This is def getting added to my dream home idea book!

Design Inspiration

In the top picture I love that they used dressers as nightstands...if you have room in your bedroom I think this is a great idea because that means your nightstands are actually functional too!  I also like the upholstered headboard and bench at the foot of the bed...hopefully some day my room will have all of these elements!

I love how bright and airy this kitchen is...you'd have to have a long room to do this in though so you'd have plenty of cabinet space since there are no upper cabinets!

Home Decor Inspiration

Does anyone recognize this living room?  It belongs to Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big.  Don't judge me, but I may or may not have some silk flowers in a vase on my coffee table. This pic made me want to replace them with a tray of succulents...you only have to water them every couple weeks and they'll look way better than fake flowers!

I'm totally in love with the idea of a window seat in the kitchen!  How great would it be for people to be able to sit here and chat with you while you're cooking in a kitchen like this?

I Would Do Laundry A Lot More...

If I had colorful barn doors hiding my laundry closet.

Design Inspiration

Did y'all think I went on vacation again without telling you?  Nope.  I just haven't been coming across a whole lot of blog worthy stuff recently...and I've been having to work. Hard.

Here are a few design pics I've saved recently.  I have no idea where they came from but if you really want to know I can probably track it down.  I know Katrina is going to read this and think that is the exact reason I should get on Pintrest...I know, I know, someday I'm going to get with the program and start Pining.

So...I know this is clearly a fire pit intended for the beach but I kind of like it for the backyard too...I'm not sure why you'd ever move your fire pit all that much but I like the idea of mobility none the less.  I also like the industrial look and feel.  I know I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself seeing as I don't even have a house with a yard, but at least I'm being realistic and not putting up a pic of a full on outdoor fireplace...for now.

I've always had a fascination with Moroccan star light fixtures...this one wouldn't let off a whole lot of light but I still think its cool.  When I live in Boone one of the houses on King Street had a glass Moroccan star light on the stoop over their front door...I loved it and will have a house I can do it at some day!

I have no idea what kind of tree that is, but I want one...if it came in a hammered oil rubbed bronzed pot like the one in the picture I'd like that a whole lot too!

I don't love these per say, but I've really been loving the idea of bedside lights that are attached to the wall rather than taking up space on the bedside table.

I want NEED a breakfast nook like this someday...only my chairs would be cuter and way more comfortable!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tufted sectional and bright colors though!

I really like that drift wood wreath over the bed...I started following that girl's blog after I saw this pic...I'll let you know if it ends up being one worth checking on a regular basis!

Its a Hard Knock Life

I think this just might be the doorway to my dream house...don't you love it?!
