Anthropologie Items of the Week

Don't judge me ok.  Maybe its because I was just in the mountains for several days.  I don't know what it is about overalls, but for some reason I really want a short pair like this to wear around this summer and if Anthro is carrying them my fashion sense can't be too off base right?

I'm a huge fan of things you can just throw on and walk out the door looking put together.  This is one of those things.  Pair it with leggings and flats and you are good to go.

Stripes, bright colors and a belted dress...what's not to like about this little number?  I have a feeling its going to be one of my birthday outfits for this year!

Madewell Spring 2012

So far I love everything I've seen from the Madewell Spring 2012 collection.  I love that with the jacket on this outfit is work appropriate but its also totally ready for happy hour after work!

I also can't wait until A. my hair is long enough for this style and B. I figure out how to actually do this style myself...I totally see myself rocking it to Braves games this summer!

More Bunting

I am seriously going to get some bunting cake toppers made in time to start celebrating friends birthdays...maybe one with circles and one with triangles...I just think they could be used on so many occasions!

I also like these place cards with bunting!

Hair Inspiration

This is the look I'm working towards...my length still has a ways to go, but its getting there.  I also need to master creating waves in my hair that don't fall out two hours after I finish curling.

Home Decor Inspiration

I love the idea of a desk between twin beds for a kid's room...especially when the desk can look out a window.  I also really like that rug!

I want to be in this tub.  Love the plant, light tile with dark grout and the rustic tub shelf (not really sure its actually classified as a shelf, but I'm not sure what else to call it).

Most of this bathroom is a little to bright even for me...but I do love that shelving with the canvas baskets!

Bacon and Cheese Bread Pudding

Pretty sure this recipe was titled to make a breakfast casserole sound fancy...but I still want to try it out.  Who wants to have breakfast at my house this weekend?

Bacon and Cheese Bread Pudding

1 large loaf of crusty white bread
12 oz. slab bacon

4 T. butter (no way around this one that I can think of)

1 lrg. garlic clove

1 c. coarsely diced onion

6 extra large eggs

3 1/2 c. heavy cream (I'll prob use milk...remember that whole healthy eating resolution)

3 c. grated sharp white Cheddar (and I'll used reduced fat cheese for this one)

2 t. salt

1 t. pepper

1/2 c. chopped fresh parsley

1. Preheat the oven to 350F.

2. Cut the bread into cubes and place cubes in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes, until just barely toasted. Remove the bread crumbs from the oven and set aside.

3. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until very crispy. Remove the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside.

4. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the bacon fat and discard the rest. Add the butter to the bacon fat in the skillet and saute the garlic and onions for 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Set aside to cool.

5. Whisk the eggs and cream in a large mixing bowl. Add the bread crumbs, bacon, garlic and onions and 2 cups of the Cheddar cheese. Whisk in the salt, pepper, and parsley.

6. Butter a 9x12 baking dish. Pour the mixture into the dish and sprinkle with the remaining cup of Cheddar. Bake for 45 minutes or until firm and golden

Delightful.

Doesn't this look like a delightful setting for a dinner party?

New Years Resolutions

I don't know why I waited until the new year to get myself back in gear but for some reason I did...which means I have a huge list of resolutions.  I think I might actually be able to stick with them though because for the most part they're aren't anything new, they're just getting back into old habit/routines that I dropped for whatever reason.

I'm sharing my resolutions with you guys so you can help hold me accountable...if you see me breaking any resolutions you can totally call me out!

1. Make more time for friends.  Right now with me bouncing around between two houses, working, and trying to squeeze in quality time with my parents I feel like I don't get to see my friends nearly as much as I'd like to.  Be prepared for me to start making friend dates with all of you!

2. Get back in a workout routine. Pilates on Mondays and Wednesdays, Cardio Tuesdays and Thursday, fun workouts like tennis a least one weekend day.

3. Eat and drink healthy.
  • Take vitamins and calcium supplements on a daily basis (I got gummy ones for both I love!)
  • Eat healthy - I love the Pioneer Woman and all the yummy recipes I find on Pinterest, but they are pretty much all loaded with cream, butter, cheese, sour cream or all of the above...I'm going to try to eat simpler which will hopefully mean healthier as well.
  • Don't eat seconds...no matter how good it is!  I always feel to full whenever I do this and always regret it!
  • Eat kids meals at fast food restaurants...sometimes I just have to eat fast food so since I can't completely quit eating it I want to make better choices when I do eat it.  I don't need all the food that comes with value meals, kids meals are usually the perfect amount!
  • Drink half my weight in ounces each day...I read that that was the amount you should drink a long time ago, but it was from a credible source.
5. Start doing a devotional of some sort every day...I'm going to use the book Jesus Calling for this one, I got it a few years ago and have randomly used it, but not on a consistent basis.

5.  Spend smartly and save.  I cleaned out my closet over Christmas break and got rid of at least 60 articles of clothing...that is redic.  I've decided that I'd rather save my mullah for a fun vacation that fill my closet back up with a bunch of clothes from Anthropologie.  I'm sure I'll always still have a wishlist, I just won't buy everything on it unless I'm lucky enough to also win the lottery this year!

6. Make more time for reading.  It seems like I always have something going on, but I really want to make more time to read this year...let me know if you have suggestions for must read books!

That's it for now, but I'm sure I'll constantly be adding things to the list!

I'm Back!

I'm back from my holiday break and ready to do some serious blogging!

I really wish the New Year's eve party I went to had one of these...maybe next year!

Airport Style

As always, I do love me some celebrity airport style.

If I were flying to Aspen instead of driving to Mississippi today I'd def be wearing this outfit!
