More From the Archives

The photo dump from my phone continues...

Don't you want to spend a lazy weekend by this fire?

Love the kilm bench.

Handleless mug.

I kind of love the pale blue and tan/gold combo going on here.

Boho nursery.

Inviting.

Love this chair.

Saved this one to use as an idea for an arrangement for a similar vase I have.

Love the leather couch and the large scale black and white behind it.

Such a fun nursery.

Can't remember if I save this one for the buffet set up or the light fixture...or both.

Kate Spade initial necklace.

Love the exaggerated bow on this wreath.

More large scale black and white photography.

Hair and outfit.

I like the idea of different color upper and lower cabinets.

More fruit and muffin ideas for weekend guests.

Hummus topped with feta, bell peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers (I'm pretending like the olives aren't even there, running the whole thing).

Like the vignette, minus the top hat.

Bedding and full length mirror.

Stolen from Instragram for my Weekly Menu

This pic made me crave fish over risotto.

Berry tart inspiration...who wouldn't love to eat this topped with some whip cream?!

Photo Dump

Champ, nails, ring, print...all perfection,

I want to have breakfast here.

Going to make this dessert a lot this summer.  I'm pretty sure its a sheet of sugar cookies, but I think you could also do it with puff pastry.

Randoms

I recently decided I might want a painting of Sadie commissioned...I know, I know, I've turned into one of those crazy people.

I'm thinking something like this with the gray background, but I want something that will capture her personality.  This dog looks sad to me.

I found a seller on Etsy that will turn a picture into a 8 x 10 painting for about $40...sounds too good to be true, guess we'll see.

I need a meat/cheese/fruit tray like this in my life.

My mom gave me an old emerald ring of hers a while back. I'd like to wear it more, but its pretty dated...mostly because the stones are marquis cut. I'm thinking about getting it reset like this ring...it looks more current, right?

I want to do this to an old wooden paddle my parents have at their lake house.

I think this is a flat bread...it reminds me of a tomato/basil/goat cheese tart Hardee made for me once. I might have to experiment with recreating it with various cheeses and veggies.

Doesn't think look like a yummy summer salad?

Spinach and artichoke instead of canadian bacon for eggs benedict.

Randoms Round Up

This is what I want for breakfast tomorrow...toast, avocado, bacon and a poached egg.  It will probably leave me feeling like death since I recently found out I'm allergic to egg yolk, but the pain and suffering will be so worth it!

Love two elements...but I think they would work in any room, not just a nursery.

1. Green velvet drapes...I recently got new throw pillows for my couch that are a similar fabric and love them when they aren't covered in Sadie fur.

2.  The light fixture.  Want one SO badly.

I like the way this wreath is hung as opposed to using one of the cheap over the door hooks I usually use.

I could totally recreate this look with things I already have in my closet...I just don't normally think to belt tunics for some reason.

Isn't this a festive cake?  It's been all over Pinterest recently.  I don't quite get how the balloons are standing up and not falling over since they're water balloons and don't have helium in them, but oh well.

Nom, nom, nom

I think because of the new year I've had food on the brain looking out for healthy recipes

This flank steak topped with Gorgonzola cheese looks tasty, but not so healthy...maybe it will be a Valentine's day treat?

Roasted acorn squash with rosemary is a step in the healthy direction.

Angle food cake layered with cool whip and berries...I'm pretty sure this is actually pound cake with some sort of real cream frosting, but I'm trying to keep it healthy!

Kabobs with Parmesan orzo...making this tonight, but with chicken.

Spaghetti squash with shrimp.  Pretty sure I'd rather have real pasta but I'll give it a try at least once!

Fall Salad

I rarely cook for myself when Alex is working.  All summer long salads were my go to meal for such nights, but with the cooler temps they haven't been appealing to me at all!

I came across this fall salad on pinterest the other day and am going to give it a try.  Salads are such a quick, easy, healthy option so I'm hoping that changing up the ingredients will make salads sound good again.

This one has crasins, feta, pears walnuts and bacon (which I may opt out of).  I'll probably add some grilled chicken to get a little protein.

The recommended dressing is one part balsamic vinaigrette, two parts poppy seed dressing.  I'm not going to make a mixture of these two, I think I'll just drizzle accordingly!

Fall Inspiration

Making one of these fall desserts for my book club next week.  The dessert above is pumkin cream cheese cressents and the one below is crockpot applesauce.

I'm all about garlands.  If I can find some good looking fake gourds I'll prob make this!

Food, Parties, and Entertaining

Canoli cups.  My version would use philo cups, with "crack" fruit dip piped in and fruit on top so they'd look like the little tarts you can get at Alons and Fresh Market.  Easy to make but fancy looking...my kind of dessert!

Just putting this out there...I'd like a sparkler cup cake involved in my 30th birthday celebration...mostly for the photo op.  No need for a whole platter full of them, just one will do...any more than that seems like a fire hazard!

Butternut squash risotto...making this soon, it feels like fall in BMT already so it wouldn't be that unseasonal even though its still August.

Bread pudding is my go to dessert...its so easy and always gets rave reviews.  I'm thinking about adding this meyer lemon version to my rotation.

Fruit and cheese picks...and another easy but sort of fancy looking app.  You could do all sorts of fruit/veggie combos!

Next time you come visit me we'll have a spread like this for breakfast.  Once again, so simple yet it looks so put together!
