Nursery Inspiration

I've been finding so much good stuff to share and I'm trying to hold back rather than post it all at one time, but I'm really dying to share this even though I personally will have no use for it for quite some time...

Love the idea of using real twigs for a mobile.  I wonder if there is a patter for the birds out there so you could make them yourself and select fun fabrics?

This chair kills me.  I want it.  I could put it in a living room, or a bedroom or pretty much anywhere for now and then move it to the nursery when the time comes right?  I love the idea of a traditional rocking chair with such a cool fabric.  We have an old rocking chair that belonged to my grandmother...it needs to be repaired from my parent's dog chewing on it (bad Tilly) but now I totally want to steal it from my mom and get it refinished.  Mom readers (that means you Hardee)...would you regret not having a glider/ottoman if you could have something as cool as this instead?

Food, Parties, and Entertaining

Canoli cups.  My version would use philo cups, with "crack" fruit dip piped in and fruit on top so they'd look like the little tarts you can get at Alons and Fresh Market.  Easy to make but fancy looking...my kind of dessert!

Just putting this out there...I'd like a sparkler cup cake involved in my 30th birthday celebration...mostly for the photo op.  No need for a whole platter full of them, just one will do...any more than that seems like a fire hazard!

Butternut squash risotto...making this soon, it feels like fall in BMT already so it wouldn't be that unseasonal even though its still August.

Bread pudding is my go to dessert...its so easy and always gets rave reviews.  I'm thinking about adding this meyer lemon version to my rotation.

Fruit and cheese picks...and another easy but sort of fancy looking app.  You could do all sorts of fruit/veggie combos!

Next time you come visit me we'll have a spread like this for breakfast.  Once again, so simple yet it looks so put together!

Home Decor Inspiration

What I like here: shaker style of cabinets, open glass cabinet, color of the cabinets (white isn't very interesting, Alex already thinks I like gray too much so I doubt he'd go for all the gray cabinets I've pinned on pinterest...I've also seen some good slate/navy blue options, but I pretty much always love anything green)  I also like the counter tops and back splash.  Want to see more of this kitchen!

What I like here: counter top over washer and dryer for folding clothes, all the storage, the back splash...the fact that it feels like a real room, the sink although I'd prob move it over to the left or right so that I could have a bigger uninterrupted counter top.

Mugs

A few years ago Katrina got me a great mug...and then another one for my birthday this year.  I love them so much I've decided to start a collection.  Here are a few other mugs on my wish list.  Let me know if you find other good mug sources I should check out!

Listed on Etsy here.

Brook Farm General Store

Etsy here.  You can pick the glaze color and customize the writing, or have no writing at all.  The also make some pretty cool dog bowls that are on Sadie's wish list!

Etsy here.  I love the polka dots but not the little, low handle.  The great thing about Etsy is that you can usually email the seller and ask for things like a similar mug with a normal handle.

Etsy Finds: Things That Are Wooden

I like the idea of this vintage wooden crate.  Serena and Lily had a similar one they put castors on and used as a toy box.  Sadie needs a stylish toy box right?  Also...I found a new antique store, they had tones of these crates for way cheaper.  The next time you come visit me I'll take you there, it will blow your mind!

Who does not need a reusable six pack holder...especially with a bottle opener built in!

My Pinterest Closet

I might like the hair more than the outfit, but I do really like the cropped red pants.

Kind of makes me want a pair of green boyfriend khakis.

Makes me want a new white button down (and my long hair back).  Classic. Versatile.  A little edgy with skinnies?

Marigold.  I thinks its going to be my color of the season.

Anthropologie Items of the Week

While I was in Atlanta I managed to talk Alex into going to Anthropologie and came across this shirt.  I loved it...Alex said it looked similar to several other shirts I already have.  Wrong.

Here's what I like about it...the material is a good weight, not see through at all.  The neck line isn't too low cut.  It has the whole shorter in the front, longer in the back thing going on.  It comes in several other colors...dark gray, coral, and blue.  The price - $48 I believe.

The front of the shirt looked longer in person and I would never pair this color with such light colored denim.  The online reviews said this is actually more emerald green in real life...I have one in transit to my house, I'll let you know when I get it!

Etsy Finds

I've been finding lots of good stuff on Etsy recently but haven't been posting about it...I'm going to try to get back on the band waggon of posting one Etsy find a week.

recently I've been thinking about switching away from the clear Goody's hair ties I've been using for years and going with something like these.  I love that they can be worn as a bracelet when you're not using them and that they are tie dyed.

This seller has them in all kinds of colors.

Birkenstocks?

Maybe Asheville is getting to me, but this picture really makes me want a pair of Birkenstock clogs.

Maybe I could go for the newer Bern style...the t-strap makes them a little more feminine and stylish right?

New Mumford & Sons Song

This makes me happy.

When I first saw them play this song at the Fox it had a different chorus...I liked that one better, but I still like this song!
