Nursery Inspiration

Yet another thing I'm just collecting ideas for, for now.

Normally I love bright colors and it surprised me how neutral this collection of nursery pics I saved on my computer all were!

Walls, dresser, and basket are my fav things in this one.

I think I liked the crib in this one, now that I look at the pic again I can't remember for sure.

It was the shelves here...although I assume a little child grabbing the book off the shelf before he/she had the strength/coordination to do it would be a safety issue!

Wood You Do It?

A while back I thought we might be moving to a new house that had a wood burning stove.  That one didn't work out but we're still on the hunt for a new place.

I love the wood storage in these pics, but I'm pretty sure most people store it outside because it it dirty and gross.

Wood you store wood inside?

I'll let you know what I decide when the day comes that I have to make a choice.

Home Decor Photo Dump

You know how I feel about built ins, especially in dining areas...got to get a place to store all my platters.  Love the glass cabinets on top to show off pretty dished and the way they used storage bins and baskets below to take full advantage of the space.

Pretty much love everything about this little nook.  Wine storage, cookbooks on the counter, basket to corral miscellaneous kitchen supplies.  AND, I kind of love that rope banister up the stairs.

Hello rustic farm house, when can I move in?  Perfection...layout, furniture, styling, everything!

Green velvet bed?  Yes please!

Distressed dresser, colorful lamp, flowers, rustic bowl, vintage painting and little piggy...love it all.

What a nice little office right.  Love the way the art is hung, that chair, the coat rack and the idea of a task lamp, just not necessarily that one.

Gold frames.  I think you could totally DIY these with spray paint and cheap white Ikea frames.

Things That Need to Be in My Life

1. ladies, can we make a pick like this happen next time we are all together?

2. and this.  Alex always says I never use my poach pods enough...this gives me inspiration for another way to eat poached eggs other than eggs benedict, not that that isn't a delicious way to eat them.

Sneaker Envy

Came across these two pics recently and they have me seriously wanting some sneakers to wear around town.  I found some that I like on Zappos...they're a 1983 style Nike shoe that they brought back (I think its fate that I have them since that is the year I was born) but of course they are sold out in my size so now I'm left waiting for an email from Zappos letting me know when they have them in stock again.

Also, I'm pretty sure this is actually a man, Marc Jacobs or Jonathan Adler...someone like that, but it still makes me want similar kicks.

I Dream of This

When I bought my condo in Atlanta I went with some basic/classic bedding from Anthro because I figured I could keep it for ever and just change out the pillows to give it a fresh look whenever I go sick of it.  I still think it was a good choice, but I am seriously loving these and wish I had a good excuse to get new bedding.

Neutral but fun and it looks like you could also change it up with bold color/patterned pillows!

Honestly, I don't know if I've ever been more obsessed with a bedding set.  You better believe I'll watch it like a hawk just waiting for it to go on sale.

What can I say, I love bird decor and floor lamps...so this guy is also on my watch list!

Home Decor Inspiration

Really love the brass corners on those frames...what a great way to jazz up a cheap, basic frame.

Like the styling on this dresser...sorry its a bit blurry.  Did you notice that frame also has fancy corners?  I also need a bedside catch all bowl.  Maybe that will be my next pottery project.

Also like this styling.  Love a garden stool but not that one in particular.

Plants and Such

I'm finally at a place in my life where I can keep plants alive.  I was not in that place when my mom gave me part of her rubber plant as a house warming gift...but this pic makes me want to get another one.

I'm also digging these basic terracotta planters.  There was a nursery in Atlanta right down the road from my condo that had tons that were nice and aged/distressed.  Next time I'm there I might have to swing by and pick up a few!

One of my plants has outgrown its pot and I need to get it a new one ASAP.  I might put one of these in the old smaller pot...I forget what they are called, but my mom always had them around the house when we were growing up.

Really loving wildflower bouquets right now.

This one is really pretty for weddings, right?!

Anthropologie Items of the Week

I made myself resist the urge to post these the moment I found them and the in the chaos that is my life I never posted them last week, so here they are a few days late...

Loving pelpums right now and really wanting this one to find its way to my closet somehow.

I have a sweater/vest-ish thing like this that I never wear only because I don't have the right shirt to go under it...I may get it and use it as an excuse to get a shirt that will work under both (I'm thinking something pretty basic, just a long dark 3/4 or long sleeved t-shirt.

I know its hot out still, but I can't resist cardi's for some reason right now.  I NEED this, for real...and I wouldn't mind the shirt pictured under it either.

Love this little nook!  It makes me want to find a corner I can hang pictures ceiling to floor in!

Love this painted brick and rustic mantle.

Love the way rope was used to hang these...this is Pottery Barn I'm pretty sure, but it would be easy to recreate the look for a lot less!
