Random Inspiration

Don't necessarily love the painting, but I do love how HUGE it is!

Girls night pizza party...love how all the cake stands are different heights (they're all from Crate and Barrel)

So random, but I love that girl's outfit for traveling - scooped hem t-shirt, dark cropped pants and a cross body bag.

Breaking Dawn part 2 - Teaser Trailer

I saw this in all its glory at the theater last night when I went to see The Hunger Games.  It may only be 15 minutes long but boy did it get me excited.  Too bad I have to wait until november to see the movie!

Madewell Braid

I'm loving the braid from the Madewell spring catalog...I'm sure I'm not coordinated enough to do it but its worth a try.  It would be a good summer hair style to keep long hair off your neck AND the messier it gets the better it looks which is a total plus in my book!

My Fantasy World

As I've said before, Alex gets full credit for bringing me out of the fantasy world where Robert Pattinson was my boyfriend and I worked as Mumford and Son's personal assistant...but sometimes I secretly let myself drift back to that world just a little bit and let myself live in my fantasy world vicariously though Pinterest.

In my fantasy world I live in a cute little bungalow like this.

...and I sleep in a bed like this, but don't worry, I don't have a redic chandy like the one in this room.

Outside there are perfectly planted pots in bloom, always.

Oh, and I have a neon chicken coup complete with chickens for fresh eggs every morning.  Please take note of the roof top garden on my chicken coup...its one of my fav features of the whole set-up.

When I have twilight movie marathons I snuggle up under this fab blanket.

When I have parties I simply make a meyer lemon garland like this one for the table from the meyer lemon tree I have.  That way guests feel like I've put work into creating a nice environment but it doesn't feel too fancy.

I pack for trips in this fad duffel...to be honest, this could actually be part of my real life, its a steal at only $99!

Every day I would eat goat cheese...like this goat cheese and roasted red pepper pasta.

And of course I'd have time to craft everything my little heart desired like these beaded friendship bracelets for all of you!

Anthropologie Items of the Week

I don't think I have the coloring to pull this off, but I still like the idea of it.  Pair it with white skinnys.

What you can't really tell by this pic is that the bottom 1/3 of third of the shirt is a separate piece of fabric so the shirt won't cling to love handles.  Also I imagine the draping in the front would be very flattering.

If Only My Pinterest Closet Were Real...

This is really ringing true today.  If my Pinterest closet were real here are some of the things I'd be wearing this weekend...

This outfit just looks so easy breezy.  I'm not sure about the length of the skirt though, need to try one on.  Madewell has a similarly cut skirt right now that's red with a tiny floral pattern...I might try it out with a red or black solid top.

I prob wouldn't wear the huge platforms but I like everything else about this outfit (I really, really want to get back into flare legged jeans!).  I've recently decided that I need to get more tops that can be dressed up or down...my wardrobe has gotten way to casual now that I've dropped out of the bar scene I frequented through college and grad school.

I just love this outfit.  I know I'm going to have to drop some major lbs to pull of white skinnys, but a girl can dream.

Flour Bombed!

I came across this pic on People.com this morning and it made me laugh so naturally I had to share it with all of you!  I think I might start flour bombing my frenemies...who's with me?

Kim Kardashian was on the receiving end of a so-called flour bomb when an unidentified woman tossed a plastic bag of white powder at the reality star as she walked a red carpet Thursday night, according to sheriff's deputies.

Paramedics were called to West Hollywood's London Hotel, but Kardashian, who got most of the powder on her jacket and hair, refused treatment, reports the Associated Press. It was later determined the substance was cooking flour.

"That probably is the craziest, unexpected, weird thing that ever happened to me," Kardashian told E! News. "Like I said to my makeup artist, I wanted more powder and that's a whole lot of translucent powder right there."

A non-criminal battery report was taken by police, and Kardashian, 31, is not pressing charges, says AP. Afterwards, she reportedly went to a room in the hotel, cleaned herself up and changed outfits.

So far, she has not Tweeted anything about the incident, although sister Khloé Kardashian Odom was inspired to write: "I wish I was with my sister tonight. I bet you that woman wouldn't have dared tried a thing."

Deputy Peter Gomez says that after the alleged assaulter was detained by hotel security, she was released at the scene.

Gear Revival

Sorry for the lack of posts recently...work has been crazy.  I don't see it settling down any time soon but I'm still going to do my best to get posts to you guys whenever I can!

Last weekend while I was in Asheville I was flipping through the Blue Ridge Outdoors publication and came across an ad for a store called Gear Revival in Atlanta.  I'd never heard of it but thought it was worth looking into.  I first checked their website: http://www.thegearrevival.com/.  And it sounded like it was sort of like a Plato's closet for outdoorsy people...you can take used clothes, gear, etc and either try to sell it on consignment or they will give you cash/store credit for whatever you bring in (you get more back if you do store credit).

I had a few jackets I no longer wear and decided to take them in on Sunday.  That's when I found out it's also kind of like a Marshall's or TJ Max for outdoor stuff.  They have tons of brand new stuff to at really good prices.  They said its all either last season or from other stores that close and Gear Revival buys up their inventory or from store samples.

Alex got a really nice pair of Patagonia shorts for $20 and I got my brother a dry fit Mountain Hardware shirt for his birthday for $12!  Its def worth checking out...I wish I would have know about it a lot sooner!

Mumford Posters

Katrina had the pleasure of attending this set of concert in Nashville.  I didn't but I still want a poster.  Maybe I'll add it to my birthday wish list (hint hint).  There are only 60 of each color so get them while the are hot!

Anthropologie Items of the Week

Apparently this bracelet come in different versions with maps of all the astrological symbols on them.  I like this one best (Sagittarius) and I would have no idea its a map of anything in the first places so I don't think you necessarily need to get your own sign.

I really think I'm going to jump on the colored jean band wagon!

Looks I Love

Katherine show us all how to mix black and navy perfectly.

A look even us muggles could pull off...lbd with a statement necklace...although its hard to tell I'm pretty sure the tips of those pumps are covered in studs and I really like the idea of a pair of shoes like that!

Knifty Knitter

As some of you may or may not know, I've taken up knitting.  Mostly just so I can make scarves but I'll probably venture out once I get more advanced.  As you also may or my not know I'm slightly lacking in the hand eye coordination department so instead of trying to juggle yarn and two knitting needles I knit on a loom.  Its not quite like the one you probably used when you were 5 to make pot holders for your mom, but its close.  If you want to give it a try the Knifty Knitter brad looms come highly recommended to me and the scarf sized loom is a whopping $4.99.

Once I make it past basic scarf making I'm going to attempt a scarf with pockets like this one!

I Want It!

I keep seeing picture like this:

Reese in Kate Spade

That make me want this Anthro dress more and more.

Ick.

Them together.  Not his shaved head.  I like that.

Birthday Wishlist

I've been asked to compile a birthday wish list and while scouring the Internet for ideas I came across these two items...

These are stemless wine glasses from Crate and Barrel.  I like them because they aren't the same old style as most stemless wine glasses...and they could be used for white or red wine which eliminates the need for two different sets of wine classes.  I think they could even be used for whiskey drinks.  And the best part is they are $16 for 8 of them!  I'm going to try to go check them out in a store to make sure they feel good in your and because they seem too good to be true, but maybe they aren't (the reviews for them are all great).

As hard as it is for me to admit, I didn't exactly make the best choices when I origionally decorated my condo.  For example, I decided to use a yellow and white bath mat as a kitchen rug.  Mistake.  Especially for me since I am the worlds messiest cook.  It is always sained and grubby looking.  I've been looking for a replacement for quite a while and just can't seem to find anything.  I was thinking I'd come across a fab Turkish or Morrocan rug on Ebay but its hard to find small rugs.  I recently came across this one on Urbans website.  Its a rag rug so it wouldn't be super plush but it would be easy to throw in the wash and even though it has some purple and pink in it I don't think its super girly (I'm trying to manify my condo where I can so Alex feels more at home here).

Look I Love

This picture really makes me wish I had wild hair.  I also love her polka dot dress with red accents.

Home Decor Inspiration

Love the art made out of reclaimed wood...I wonder if Alex could do something like that?

Really loving the idea of one big sham in a bright pattern.

Branch, twig and map garland.  I could totally make it myself!  The gray striped bedding is from West Elm just in case you were wondering!

Fab Find Friday

I know that my Fab Find Friday posts have typically featured products I'm dying to share with you, but if we're really being honest you know my Fab Find Friday post have not exactly happened regularly so I don't feel the need to stick to a pattern.

This is not a new product, but it is life changing.  Seriously.

The last time the gang and I went away for a weekend getaway we cooked two packs of bacon for eight people.  This meant someone was standing over the stove for an hour or so...maybe even longer flipping bacon and making sure it stayed flat.  Never again friends, never again.

A few months ago I came across oven baked bacon on Pinterest.  After making it a few times I can say its pretty much fool proof.  Alex says he likes it even better than stove top bacon but I think that's just because its way less work and never gets burnt.  Nina C. was the first person I know to try it out and from her first attempt I feel the need to warn you...LINE YOUR PAN BEFORE YOU BAKE.  Just do it, trust me...it makes clean up 1,000 times easier.

Other than that, all you have to do is lay your bacon out on a cooking sheet and bake at 350 for 20 - 25 minutes.  I've read you can also do it at 400 for 15 minutes but that the fat doesn't cook off as much when you do it that way.

You get crispy bacon with practically no effort. Every time.

I'm thinking about trying something like this next time...bacon on a cooling rack over the baking sheet so that the bacon doesn't just sit in the grease while its cooking...I'll let you know how it goes!
