Wish List - For the Home

I always have about 3 running wish lists in my head.  Here are the things that are on the top of my home decor wish list.

Jute and Chenille herringbone rug from West Elm.  The jute will make it durable and the chenille will make it soft.  Perfect for under our bed since there is no carpet in our room.  I like that there is some pattern but that it still has a neutral color pallet...our bedroom has a lot of color in it already so we need something that will add just a touch of interest, nothing too bold or overwhelming!

Stacking metal bistro chairs from World Market.  They'll go at our kitchen table for now but could easily be used outside if we ever have a crowd over to grill out.

Baskets from Ghana...colorful but classic.  We literally have no baskets so I was thinking about getting something like this to contain all of Sadie's toys.

I Can't Resist

By now I've sure you've noticed that there have been fewer and fewer celebrity news post here...to be honest, I think I just finally faced reality and came out of my fantasy world where I really thought I could be Mumford or Robert Pattinson's personal assistant and I either didn't have time to keep up with celebrity news the way I used to or I just didn't care to do it.  Either way I just couldn't resist positng about this because I still have a special place in my heart for Robert Pattinson!

FacebookTweetKristen Stewart is issuing a public apology for hurting her boyfriend of three years, Robert Pattinson, by having a fling with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," Stewart said in a statement Wednesday.

News of Stewart's infidelity with the 41-year-old, married director comes about four years after the couple met while filming the first installment of Twilight, the vampire smash that thrust them into the spotlight before the film even arrived in theaters. Buzz that they were a real-life couple took off almost immediately.

As Pattinson, 26, and Stewart, 22, have become increasingly open about their relationship, they've been photographed kissing and keeping cozy on date nights in Los Angeles.

Barely two weeks ago, the couple were all laughs at Comic-Con as they joked about their on-camera smooching scenes.

Wedding Inspiration

I tried to steal these pictures from the blog I found them on and they aren't the best quality, but I think you'll get the picture anyways.

The wedding took place in Nashville so its was a little southern and a little bohemian.  I would have never thought to wear flat as a bride but these are fancy enough that I think they would work and it would be nice to be comfortable.  I love the idea of a simple gold cuff  (pictured left) and the dark blue earrings.  The girl's band is pretty bling bling (pictured top right) but I guess if you were going to wear it more by itself it would be ok.

The paper looks like thick high quality letterpress paper.  I love that the font is pretty casual despite the fanciness of the paper.  And I would die to have a rug like that for my house!

I love bouquets that don't look too done and have an asymmetrical shape.  The mix of colors and flowers here is pretty perf...as is the tie dyed wrap around the base of the bouquet.

Just some more ideas for me to tuck away for a few more years...

Love This Outfit!

1. Who doesn't love a black and white stripe?  I've already got one (or maybe 4 in my closet)

2.  Statement necklace in turquoise...yes of course I need one!

3. Red cropped pants...I've been saying I was going to get on the colored denim bandwagon forever, this pic makes me think now is the time!

4.  This strap black heels...I need some, maybe if I weren't so picky I might actually have a pair in my closet by now!

The Campaign

Have y'all seen previews for this movie yet?  The one I saw on TV was funnier than this video but I still think this movie is going to be a must see!

Fit for a Massey

I've made myself swear to start only buying clothes that are flattering on me...clothes that are cut to accentuate my waist are, shifts are not.  I love this dress but it won't work with my new dress code...however, I'm pretty sure every single one of the Massey sisters could pull it off flawlessly!

I have it pinned if you want to know where to get it...I think it was cheap, maybe $70!

Bable Tracklist

This is the tracklist for Mumford's new album...if you're any kind of fan you'll recognize a few from their live shows...I'm excited to hear them recorded and pumped to hear all the songs I haven't heard yet!  Do you think King Charles' Lady of the River will be a secret song?

1. Babel

2. Whispers in the Dark

3. I Will Wait

4. Holland Road

5. Ghosts That We Knew

6. Lover of the Light

7. Lovers’ Eyes

8. Reminder

9. Hopeless Wanderer

10. Broken Crown

11. Below My Feet

12. Not With Haste

The Month of Music

Avett brothers are releasing their new CD September 11th and Mumford and Sons are releasing theirs on September 24th...who wants to have a CD release party with me to celebrate?

Cropped Black Pants

Pictures like these have been making me crave a pair of cropped black pants.  I think they look more adult and less college coed than leggings but could serve pretty much the same function in my wardrobe.  Of course I struggle with the fact that people don't exactly bee bop around Black Mountain in black pants so I'm thinking about trying to find a black denim pair in a similar cute.  Seems like something I could find at Gap or Loft for a reasonable price.

I texted with Katrina earlier this summer about cropped black pants...she has a pair and always looks so chic in them.  I wasn't sure if they should be worn with heels or flats.  She informed me that they could be worn with either and I have to agree with her advice.

Cropped black pants seem like they would be a very versatile addition to my wardrobe.  I'll let y'all know when I find the perfect pair!

The Avett Brother's New Single

I heard this on the radio last night driving home from work and had to Shazam it to make sure it was actually the Avett Brother's since I'd never heard it before.

Then I played it for Alex to confirm that it was in fact a new song and not just one I hadn't heard before.

Here it is for your listening pleasure!

Anthropologie Items of the Week

Hardee came to visit me a few weeks back and wore a great sweater that was cut longer in the back than the front and even though I normally stay away from asymmetrical hem lines I loved it so much that I added this shirt to my wishlist.  I think it could be extremely versatile and of course very comfortable.  It also comes in a dark gray and is pretty reasonably priced.

Not sure what it is about this shirt but it caught my eye.  I'd probably never wear it but it could be perf for Katrina with the little bits of coral in it so I decided to share it anyways!

Southwest Potato Salad

Alex loves potato salad and all things spicy so I thought this sounded like the perf side for his birthday dinner.  It was my first time ever making potato salad and I have to say, I think it turned out pretty well.  I was serving a group of 15 and there was none left at the end of the night...but unless you are making it for a crowd I suggest at least halfing it.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups prepared mayonnaise (I only used 1 cup because I didn't want it to be too mayonnaisey)
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (I used lemon juice because I forgot to buy limes at the store)
2 tablespoons chipotle pepper puree (I used 2 TB of chipotle seasoning...use less if you don't like spicy things...it def had some kick to it)
1 large ripe tomato, seeded and diced (left it out because it seemed like a weird thing to add to potato salad)
1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves (left it out because neither Alex or I like it)
3 scallions, chopped, white and green parts
1 medium red onion, thinly sliced (I used vidalia onion and minced it)
1/2 teaspoon cayenne (left this out since I used chipoltle seasoning and added a little smoked paprika instead)
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
16 new potatoes, about 3 to 4 pounds, cooked, drained and sliced 1/2-inch thick

Directions
Combine all the ingredients, except the potatoes, in a medium bowl and season with salt and pepper, to taste. Place warm potatoes in a large bowl and pour the mixture over potatoes and mix well. Season again with salt and pepper, to taste.
