Style Inspiration

Love the chambray/maxi skirt combo here.

This little lady's boots are pretty sweet.

Randoms

I recently decided I might want a painting of Sadie commissioned...I know, I know, I've turned into one of those crazy people.

I'm thinking something like this with the gray background, but I want something that will capture her personality.  This dog looks sad to me.

I found a seller on Etsy that will turn a picture into a 8 x 10 painting for about $40...sounds too good to be true, guess we'll see.

I need a meat/cheese/fruit tray like this in my life.

My mom gave me an old emerald ring of hers a while back. I'd like to wear it more, but its pretty dated...mostly because the stones are marquis cut. I'm thinking about getting it reset like this ring...it looks more current, right?

I want to do this to an old wooden paddle my parents have at their lake house.

I think this is a flat bread...it reminds me of a tomato/basil/goat cheese tart Hardee made for me once. I might have to experiment with recreating it with various cheeses and veggies.

Doesn't think look like a yummy summer salad?

Laundry Area Makeover

Y'all know the artist Michelle Armas right?  She recently shared her laundry area makeover on her blog (I follow it so I know when she adds new paintings to her store).  I pretty much love everything about it...she really made a small kitchen work.

She closed it in with the doors...look at that hardware!

She also said she wanted to do a colorful Turkish/Persian rug but went with Flor tiles which can be switched out easily because she has dogs that use the backyard to go outside.

This is the actual laundry area. I love the butcher block counter from Ikea for folding clothes and all those shelves for storage...especially with the under shelf lighting!

Feeling Crafty

I like the idea of using rope for tote handles and having the knots on the outside. And of course I love anything striped.

Why don't all those places who do paint/drink wine parties every do something like this instead of just pictures of wine bottles, trees, or high heels.  I would totally do this and you could use whatever colors you wanted to match your decor!

Oh Baby

I noticed this pic because I have that necklace, but I always wear it long...I never thought to double it up.

Its a gender reveal photo shoot and they did the typical open the box with balloons things, but then all the sudden they had these props to match the color of the gender.  I like the idea of just opening a box of props...you know I love props.

Just thought this was sweet...love the striped blanket/scarf...whatever it is.

Is it bad that when I saw these outfits I secretly wished the also came in adult sizes?

Home Decor Inspiration

Love the styling.  Totally going to steal some hydrangeas from my neighbor tonight and put them in a similar glass bottle.  I also have a wire basket like this I may repurpose...right now its in a spare bathroom with extra toilet paper, an important job but not real fun.

I know you think I chose this because of the champ...wrong.  Its because of the carnations in the background...first time I've ever seen them and thought they were pretty that I can think of!

Such a fun kid's room.  I like the chair at the end of the twin bed as opposed to a couch/bench at the end of a larger bed.  This set up would have got a lot of use from me growing up.

Gems

Love this stack...it might have mentioned adding rings with special birthstones to the stack hence the emeralds and sapphires, I can't remember but I think that's a good idea.  Mostly this is just a really nice mix.

I also like those glitter nails...I might have to break down and do it even though Alex says its for street walkers...this shows that classy people can pull it off too!

This pic isn't the best, but basically its a different way to set princess cut studs...like a diamond instead of the square way.  Way cool.

I like that wedding band...Hardee isn't it kind of like yours?  My mom also has a similar ring that she wore as a right hand ring by itself so maybe that's what I'm thinking of, but I really like it paired with a simple solitaire.

Wedding Inspiration

I think the pic above is actually an engagement session, but I like her outfit...its what made me want a jean jacket most recently.

I've been seeing a lot of short dresses recently...I think they're fun, but I wonder if you would regret not getting a gown.

Pretty white flowers in mason jars down the isle...simple, elegant, but also a little rustic.

Pretty wedding makeup and hair.

Anthropologie Items of the Week

Everyone of you should own everyone of these...

A plain white tee with some flare.  Its super flattering on...I happen to know because its already been worn by moi and put in my dirty clothes hamper.  I tricked Alex into making a quick stop at Anthro while we were in Atlanta on the way to Denver.

Linen striped shirt.  A perfect summer weight.  So versatile.

Obsessed.  I think the color blocking will make this one so flattering on.  Love it dressed up with these necklaces, but you could also dress it down...or add some color...the possibilities are truly endless aren't they?

Style Inspiration

Sorry if these are repeats...I don't think I've posted on them, I tried going back to check and it doesn't look like I have, but I still feel like I already have!

This would have been a good 4th of July outfit.  Madewell has a similar dress right now and I love the pop of color the necklace adds.  I also love the shape of those shades.

I would prob never wear an outfit like this, but I do like it.  It makes me want cowboy boots.  I think I could at least pull off a triangle scarf over a slouchy sweater.

The top is Madewell, but its sold out.  I found a similar one in my closet and recreated the outfit.  I assumed the jeans were skinnies, but I went and looked at the original post and they're actually flares with heels...I think you could go either way.  Also love her hair.

Gap Items of the Week

I think I've mentioned before that Gap is back on my radar since its the best the Asheville mall has to offer.

I've gone back and forth for years on whether I would wear a jean jacket again or if it would make me feel too 90's.  I like the shrunken cut of this one...maybe I'll finally purchase one.  Looking at it made me nostalgic about back too school shopping.  I love this time of year when its still hot out but stores are starting to put out fall clothes for back to school.  I think it was my favorite shopping trip of the year growing up.  Better than birthday shopping or Christmas shopping, right?

If you know anything about me you know I love bright colors.  I also love multicolored things that can be worn with different solids.  While doing a recent inventory of my scarf collection I realized that I was lacking a striped scarf.  I ordered this one and can't say enough good things about it.  Light weight.  Neon.  Stripes.  Love everything about it!

Hey There Strangers!

Wow, its been a while...a loooooong while.  Alex now refers to me as jet setter...I've been traveling pretty much non-stop for the last month.  I was just going to start making posts for all the images I've saved recently when I realized I never did that with the last set.  So...here's a photo/post dump of the old ones.  I'll post the new ones soon I swear, and by soon I don't mean early September!

I think the lights are called school house style or something like that.  I like them.  Classic, but sort of trendy and interesting...at least better than builder grade flush mount lights right?

I've been really into dark, moody bedrooms but I'll admit I'm afraid to just go and paint a whole room navy.  This shows you can still do dark and moody with light walls.

Those bar stools = love.

I'm all about potted plants on doorsteps...and normally I'm all about symmetry, but sometimes it looks a little too matchy matchy.  I like that they just added one extra potted plant on the left...still a classic look, but not so formal.

When Alex and I first started dating he had nery a nightstand and it drove me crazy.  When he moved in with Spencer he upgraded to Rubbermaid tubs as nightstands.  When we moved to BMT my nightstands went in our room and now our guest room is nightstand-less.  We don't get enough visitors to justify investing in nice nightstands but I think a stool of some sort might be a good temporary solution...it would at least be big enough for a book, glass of water and iPhone, all of which are on my nightstand on a regular basis.

Love these sconces and the wood paneling.
