Anthropologie Items of the Week

I came across the pic above on a blog recently and it made me give the shirt from Anthro below another look.  Def something that needs to be tried on in person though.

Look What I Found...

Sometimes when I'm reading blogs on my iPad I save images and then forget about them.  Here are a few I just discovered...

Love this tray..it looks styled but could also be a great place for gathering things left sitting around randomly.

The art is a bit crazy here, I know.  What I like about this room is that they mixed a very traditional rug with some brightly colored, fun pillows and it all works together.  Need to start mixing styles up a little bit more!

I let my hair lady talk me into bangs the last time I got a cut and they always seem to be in the way...I like the idea of her longer bangs...mine will get there someday!

Also, pencil skirts.  I now love them.  I used to hate them because I thought they made my hips and thighs look bigger so I hid under fuller skirts, but now I think I've changed my mind!

On My Wishlist

Really want some gold stacking rings.

This clutch...of course I love it in blue, but I think if I actually purchased it I'd get it in gold.  Its Claire Vivier.

I also love the rest of the outfit pictured!

Home Decor Inspiration

I like how the art was grouped...it give a lot of height to the area.  Also like the idea of having a basket under the entry table to collect random things that get left behind.

I love, love, love herringbone patterns in chimneys...I know its a weird thing to even notice, but I do.

My parents got their floors refinished a few years years ago and never put a runner on their stairs afterwards.  The first time we took Sadie to my parents' house she got trampled going down the stairs by their dogs and is now terrified of stairs that don't have runners.

Runners have to be done right and I think this is a good example...patterned but not to crazy, not too plush and 80s looking and looks like it would hide dirt and wear well.

Fall Inspiration

Making one of these fall desserts for my book club next week.  The dessert above is pumkin cream cheese cressents and the one below is crockpot applesauce.

I'm all about garlands.  If I can find some good looking fake gourds I'll prob make this!

More Style Inspiration

Love this.  Hair.  Chunky sweater over a dress. Ran boots.  Need to recreate this from what I already have in my closet!

Like the idea of a basic black3/4 sleeve top that can be dressed up or down and styled with all kinds of different accessories...

Probably because it reminds me of a 3/4 dress like this one (both of these are Tibi).

Love the wrap skirt on this dress...I think it could be worn with tights and boots BUT based on how cold it already is here I'm not sure if that would be enough to keep me warm while wearing it and I'm not sure I'd be able to wear it often enough to make it worth it.

Also, this probably goes without saying, but don't try light gray tights to match the spots on this dress...I made that mistake once and never wore the tights..when I got them on my lower half looked like it belonged to a smurf.

Anthropologie Items of the Week

Love polka dots and the scalloped hem.

Very ballerina-ish, but I like it!

Magical.

This made me add seeing M&S at Red Rocks to my bucket list...good thing I have friends in Denver to host me while I'm there!

DIY Ideas

I might try bunting instead of garland for Christmas this year.

Felt stuffed with rice...apparently you can microwave them for 30 seconds and the work like little hand warmers.

Bug spray for outdoor parties.  You could do something similar for coozies and sunscreen too!

Hair and Beauty Inspiration

I'm still trying to master curls like these pictures that look natural and not like I used a curling or flat iron to get them.

I'm not bold enough to do a red lip, but if I were I'd do it like the picture above with pretty blush and lined eyed.

I've been tempted to start highlighting my hair again and an ombre look like this appeals to me because it seems like it would be a lot lower maintenance that regular highlights.
